P&C Information Brochure

Welcome to Broadbeach State School.

The P&C would like to congratulate you on your choice of school and trust your association with us will be very positive and rewarding. The P&C Association at Broadbeach State School works closely with the teachers, administration, students and the wider community to provide the best facilities, equipment and environment for our most important asset: OUR CHILDREN.

The P&C Association represents the parents and school community in the decision making for our school. Some examples of the level of involvement, consultation and decision making processes that the P&C are encouraged to participate in include:

Ø The purpose and vision of the school;
Ø School policy decisions and development;
Ø Financial planning and budgeting;
and
Ø Facilities and equipment enhancement

The P&C also oversees the activities of other parent committees in the school, such as SMT (School Management Team), Fundraising Committee, Parent Representatives, Uniform Shop and Tuckshop.

A P&C Levy of $40 per family is asked to supplement and minimise fundraising activities to help with the costs of providing essential resources and equipment that the P&C provide for the school, such as computers, smart boards, internet access and many other resources. Elections of office bearers occur at the Annual General Meeting of the Association, which is held in February/March of each year.

The current elected executives are:

President: Jane Campbell

Vice President/s: Lindy Pickford / Candy Barta / Pam Smith

Treasurer: Louise Stuart

Secretary: Melissa Morton

All our P&C positions are voluntary and without the help of these dedicated parents and carers, we would not be able to provide the essential resources and equipment for our children.

The P&C Association is absolutely vital to the effective operation of the school and our desire to provide a quality curriculum which suits the needs of our students. All parents are encouraged to participate in the many and varied activities offered throughout the year. The P&C Association meet on the third Wednesday of every month in the School Administration building. Times vary (please check notice boards for times).
